“I think that if Ukraine does not receive a visa-free regime, for example, because of the position of France, it will simply be a scandal,” he said.

According to him, the fact that Ukraine has not yet received a visa-free regime is “very shameful.” “All the criteria for this have been met. I think it's just a political scandal. This shows that the EU is not working as it should, they have some kind of internal affairs,” the ambassador said.

He recalled that the problem of a relative visa-free regime for Ukraine was provoked by the Netherlands. “They planned the referendum and tried to interfere with this process,” the diplomat said.

At the same time, Jan Peklo assured that the position of Poland and other EU countries is that Ukraine should be given a visa-free regime.

“Georgia has already received a visa-free regime! And you, Ukrainians, paid the highest price for the so-called European values... No, it is simply impossible that you will not receive a visa-free visa! I think that the process has begun and there will be a solution. And already in June you will travel to Europe without Schengen visas,” the diplomat noted.

In addition, he admitted that after the introduction of a visa-free regime, the directions of the main trips of Ukrainians may change:

“We do not know for sure whether Poland will remain the main country of entry and transit for Ukrainians. Perhaps your citizens will travel further – to Germany or France, to Italy, Spain or Portugal.”

“Although Schengen tourist visas do not provide the opportunity to work legally. And Poland issues visas to Ukrainians, which give permission to work in Poland,” he added.
