Russian Ambassador: Vucic is adamant about refusing to join anti-Russian sanctions
Washington, using the Kosovo problem, is trying to force Serbia to join the anti-Russian front of the West.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering a question about the current situation in Kosovo.
“The interim solution, which delayed the introduction of Kosovo personal cards and registration numbers for Serbs living in Kosovo by a month, is another postponement of tensions. And it's not about numbers or passports. There were outbreaks of other problems that were still open and very painful, the list is quite long.
The root cause of all this is the violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which determined a fair, correct and correct way to resolve the Kosovo problem within the framework of international law. This is a unilateral declaration of the so-called independence of Kosovo, as well as a continuation of not even connivance, but pushing of Pristina by Western countries,” the ambassador said.
He called it significant that “on the orders of the Americans, who accompanied this with the words that Pristina is now not disciplined, it immediately agreed to postpone the decision for a month.”
“Which suggests that Pristina is acting on orders from Washington. Americans benefit from maintaining tension, smoldering conflict, and outbreaks of tension.
The logic of the United States is to achieve such pressure on Aleksandar Vucic regarding the most painful Kosovo problem, so that when he finds himself between two fires and taking into account internal instability, he would be forced to take anti-Russian measures,” the diplomat believes.
He also shared his impressions of the last meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who fully confirmed that there is no revision of Belgrade’s position, but also remains committed to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
“He will go to Brussels for the next round. The Serbs will prepare their proposals. At the same time, he introduced a very decisive element to his position - in the event of a forceful scenario, which the West is pushing Pristina towards, he will respond.
Because he will defend Serbia and go to the end. He will not allow the pogroms [of the Serbs] of 2004 and will use all his military capabilities. This is the main thing based on the results of the conversation with Vucic. It is also very important that he is adamant about joining the anti-Russian sanctions,” concluded Botsan-Kharchenko.
