Russian Ambassador to China: BRICS can become a counterweight to the UN
It is time for the international community to create a united front against Western dictatorship.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the PRC Andrei Denisov stated this at a discussion panel session of the International Affairs magazine, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A very unpleasant situation is developing in international organizations, not only for us, but for the global community in general. Because more and more commanding heights, including at the UN, are being captured by Westerners.
Therefore, we need to somehow come out from a more unified, common position, create a front that is based not on discipline, but on an awareness of one’s national interests, on the logic of survival in the modern world,” Denisov said.
The diplomat emphasized that organizations such as BRICS can act not only as an alternative, but also as a counterweight to the collective West.
“An example of the influence that a new group can have, the same BRICS, is the same Summit of Twenty. It was thanks to the scattered efforts, but directed in one direction, that the BRICS member countries helped straighten the final document of this summit in a more or less acceptable direction.
It is strikingly different from what was laid down and what the Westerners tried to impose on the entire world community, and what the BRICS member countries opposed. I think this is a good example, and such ones will multiply,” the ambassador added.
