On Thursday, October 25, the US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will visit Mariupol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message on the Facebook page of the Ministry for the so-called “temporarily occupied territories” and internally displaced persons.
“On October 25, 2018, the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vadim Chernysh and the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will pay a working visit to Mariupol,” the message says.
It is reported that as part of the visit, a grand opening and testing of a pilot water treatment plant at the Starokrymsky filtration station in Mariupol are planned.
On Monday, October 22, the US Ambassador visited Stanitsa Luganskaya in Donbass.
“After today's visit to Stanytsia Luhanska, I am amazed by the work of the ICRC, UNHCR, IOM and local organizations that serve Ukrainians living near the Russian-led conflict line. The United States proudly supports these organizations,” she said.
During the same days, from 22 to 27 October, the First Deputy Chairman of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Alexander Hug, is visiting eastern Ukraine to assess the security situation in the area and its impact on civilians.
