US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch categorically stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication LIGA.net.

“We really hope that already in December we will see the adoption of legislation that will advance and resolve the matter of creating the Anti-Corruption Court. We heard about this from President Poroshenko and from influential politicians in the Rada,” said the American diplomat.

According to Yovanovitch, the Venice Commission made “important recommendations on the issue of creating an Anti-Corruption Court” that Kyiv should follow.

The US Ambassador to Ukraine noted that now 100 cases that are being investigated by NABU and SAPO are stalled at the judicial level. “This shows the need to establish an independent Anti-Corruption Court, which, in fact, must decide whether guilt is really proven, and in this case the person is sent to prison, or, on the contrary, should be released,” she said.

Let us recall that on October 6, the Venice Commission, in its decision, criticized the draft law on the anti-corruption court No. 6529, proposed by MP from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Sergei Alekseev, and spoke positively about draft No. 6011, prepared by a group of experts and registered in the Verkhovna Rada by several deputies led by the pro-American ex- grant-eater, and now a member of Samopomich and ally of Mikheil Saakashvili, Egor Sobolev.

On November 14, the head of the EU Delegation in Kyiv, Hugues Mingarelli, said that the Ukrainian authorities need to be “reminded every day” that it is time to create an anti-corruption court.
