US Ambassador to Ukraine: The Russians are already here, my wife saw how they paid in rubles in the store

Considering that a government of bloggers has established itself in Ukraine, and many government official statements are made on social networks, Jeffrey Pyatt’s tweet was more than surprising.

Jeffrey Payette wrote: “It's no secret that the Russian army is already here. My wife has a small store, and some people want to pay only in rubles. They are Russians!".
Many readers were perplexed. Probably, in the first minutes after the publication, official government bodies in Kyiv, as well as the Kyiv media, experienced considerable confusion as to how to understand this message.
It turned out that we are not talking about the sudden appearance of Russian soldiers in Kyiv, nor about the danger to the store of the American ambassador’s wife. Just the official representative of the United States in Ukraine and the curator of the Ukrainian government published a quote from the Kyiv English-language newspaper Kievpost. But the tweet was made in such a way that at first one might think that this was an official statement from Geoffrey Pyatt.
In the publication of the same newspaper, from which the US Ambassador cut out the quotation, a statement by a certain resident is given Novoazovsk, who states that a sign of the presence of the Russian army in the territory of a populated area are people paying in rubles in a store.
One can only guess how the country's security agencies reacted to the statement about the danger to the wife of the American ambassador.
