The US Ambassador to Kyiv got into a huge scandal
US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch may leave her post early and go to Washington.
Ukrainian investigative journalist Vladimir Boyko writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Boyko, this is due to the fact that Yovanovitch is involved in a scandal involving interference in the US presidential election and is involved in the so-called “Manafort case.”
We are talking about the testimony given by the head of the SAPO Nazar Kholodnitsky, who stated that the director of NABU Artem Sytnik and the FBI special representative in Ukraine Karen Greenaway participated in an attempt to discredit the US presidential candidate Donald Trump through the former head of his campaign headquarters Paul Manafort, who was involved in corruption scandal with the “barn book” of the Party of Regions.
“The consequences were immediate: for this act in December 2018, Mrs. Greenaway, despite 22 years of unblemished service, was fired from the FBI,” writes Boyko.
According to the journalist, Artem Sytnik and senior US officials may follow her.
“The New York Times published an article saying that Barack Obama White House lawyer Gregory Craig could be charged in the Manafort case.” The publication writes that Craig may be accused of collaborating with Manafort and hiding the receipt of money from Ukrainian oligarchs... In January 2019, an investigation into Craig was launched, and in the near future Deputy Secretary of State John Kent, a former US ambassador, may find himself in a very spicy situation in Ukraine Payette and the current Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch,” adds Boyko.
