The American diplomat also called on the new Kiev government to more actively remind residents of the Donbass republics that they are Ukrainians who need to “integrate” back into Ukraine.

This administration, this government cares about the people, about the Ukrainians who live on the other side of the demarcation line, in areas that are not controlled by the government. And this is important, because if we want to have integration, they must come here, they must become part of Ukraine again. And to let them know that you, the president and the people of Ukraine recognize that they are Ukrainians, this is a very important thesis that you express by gathering here,” Taylor concluded.
At the same time, Kiev political scientist Alexander Skubchenko noted that the forum with guests such as Taylor served as an excellent anti-advertising of the new Ukrainian government for residents of the LDPR.
