Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on Channel 5.
“We need to talk seriously today about joint production of both weapons and ammunition. We already produce many things that can not only be used in the defense of the country, but also offered to foreign markets. If American partners see commercial interest in this, it will be successful. It is in the sphere of production that the conversation about lethal weapons needs to be transferred. If partners come here, they will already see us as a key country in the region,” Chaly said.
According to him, the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine is currently being slowed down by the Obama administration.
“At the political level, Congress supported it: both Democrats and Republicans. We were allocated 50 million for lethal weapons. That is, the decisions are both political and financial. I’ll be honest: this position is not supported in the White House. I won’t reveal the reasons, there is a logic to it,” Chaly said.
