Ukrainian Ambassador lied to Slovak MPs
The Ukrainian Ambassador to Slovakia persuaded parliament members and businessmen not to visit Crimea, frightening them about the situation on the peninsula.
This was stated today in an interview with Sputnik radio by independent member of the National Council of Slovakia Peter Marchek, who heads a delegation of 10 people who finally arrived in Crimea, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.”
“Mr. Ambassador of Ukraine told me that civil rights are being infringed in Crimea, there is no democracy. I promised my voters to film and show everything. Our task was to talk to people. We shot a video and want to show all these conversations with citizens of Crimea in Slovakia. Our delegation wants people to know the truth,” Marcek said.
According to him, the Slovaks were very surprised when they learned that there are three state languages and 16 Crimean Tatar schools in Crimea.
“We are hushing up this and saying that this does not exist, because our media is in the hands of American corporations. But the Slovak people are smart and distinguish when the truth is being told and when someone is lying,” said Marcek.
He said that the businessmen who arrived with him were interested in cooperation in the fields of tourism and energy.
