South Korean Ambassador to Turchinov: “We understand you like no one else”
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Young-Goo Lee, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the National Security and Defense Council website.

“There is a wide range of areas in which we could raise our cooperation to a fundamentally new level,” Turchinov emphasized.
According to the NSDC Secretary, the two countries have much in common: “both Ukraine and the Republic of Korea, in the context of military confrontation, were forced to ensure the socio-economic and democratic development of their countries.”
The parties also discussed issues of holding a meeting of the joint commission on military-technical cooperation, which, according to Turchinov, can significantly speed up the implementation of joint projects.
In turn, Yang-Gu Lee emphasized the interest of the South Korean government in deepening cooperation with Ukraine. In addition, he noted that his country supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
“We understand you like no one else. After all, South Korea has survived crushing wars, external pressure and powerful economic crises, but without this our country would never have become as strong and developed as it is now. Any crisis provides an opportunity for further development,” he said, adding that bilateral cooperation can produce “extremely large-scale and positive results,” the ambassador said.
