The Israeli Embassy protested to the Verkhovna Rada for the glorification of Hitler's henchmen
The Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine expressed protest due to the fact that the Verkhovna Rada decided to celebrate the anniversaries of “numerous Nazi collaborators” in 2020, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Referring to Verkhovna Rada Resolution 2364 of December 3, 2019 on honoring a number of controversial Ukrainian personalities, Israeli diplomats stated that: “referring to Verkhovna Rada Resolution 2364 of December 3, 2019 on honoring a number of Ukrainian personalities, we strongly protest against inclusion in the list of numerous accomplices Nazis."
In the list, the embassy indicated such names as: “Vladimir Mikhailovich Kubiyovych (120th anniversary of his birth), a well-known collaborator of the Nazis, in the resolution of the Rada is presented exclusively as a historian and cartographer, also Maxim Zhelezny, Vasily Lvovich, Ulas Samchuk, Vasily Sidor, Kirill Osmak , Alexander Vyshinsky, Vasily Galas, Yaroslav Starukh, Andrey Melnik.”
“We believe that honoring those who collaborated with the Nazi regime is a slight to your computer's memory of the 6 million Jews exterminated by the Nazi regime. Despite our good relations, we demand that you reconsider the inclusion of these controversial personalities in the list of people who will be officially honored in your country,” the embassy added.
The Israeli side also called on the Verkhovna Rada to “adopt the definition of anti-Semitism of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.”
