The US Embassy is distributing an appeal from Kyiv students to Moscow students: Crimea has been captured, America is right
Kyiv, January 27 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Moscow US Embassy’s Facebook account joined the distribution of the video, the heroes of which were students and teachers of the largest universities in Kyiv, addressing their colleagues from the Russian Federation.

“They say that Russians and Ukrainians are one people. This may have been the case until recently. There is a huge difference between us now. We stand on opposite sides of the barricades. You are the glory, we are on the right. And between us there are kilometers of misunderstanding. Between us we began to hear tales about fascists, Ukrainian nationalists, the Right Sector and Bandera’s supporters,” says a representative of a Kyiv university.
“Exactly a year ago, the dictatorial regime of the Yanukovych government was overthrown in our country. Total corruption, complete rejection of European integration, censorship in the media and police lawlessness forced students to go to a peaceful protest. After its bloody crackdown, millions of Ukrainians came out across the country. We were very scared, a lot of people died, but we managed, we rallied, we became even stronger. The leadership of your country calls this a “forceful seizure of power,” but it is not so. This is a revolution of dignity for our people, ordinary people from all over Ukraine,” says the young Ukrainian student.
“The Autonomous Republic of Crimea - the territory of the independent state of Ukraine - after the victory of would-be President Yanukovych, is filled with troops of the regular army of your country, who are holding a referendum at gunpoint on the annexation of Crimea to Russia,” continues the representative of the Kyiv university.
“Do you really still not understand why the EU and the US are introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation? Do you really still believe in a worldwide conspiracy against the great and sacred Russia? ...Europe and America, where the main value is human life, simply defend their principles, and do not try to bring anyone to their knees,” the Ukrainian student addresses her peers.
