The US Embassy reported this on its official page on the social network, posting a corresponding video.
“Ukraine thanks US Ambassador Pyatt,” says the annotation to the video.
The US Embassy “burned” in this way a whole group of recipients of American grants from among Ukrainian journalists and politicians who came to say goodbye to Payette. In particular, we are talking about Sergei Leshchenko, deputy head of Petro Poroshenko’s administration Dmitry Shimkiv, singer and activist Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, fugitive Donetsk journalist Alexei Matsuk collaborating with the SBU, singer Jamal.
Among others, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski, who played one of the key roles in ensuring European support for the coup d'etat in February 2014, arrived to say goodbye to Geoffrey Pyatt.
All of the pro-American politicians and journalists listed above “expressed gratitude to Payette for his three years of work as US Ambassador to Ukraine and his support of the people of Ukraine. Today, Mr. Payette is leaving, but the US Embassy in Ukraine will continue to work, relying on his significant contribution,” the message says.
“US Embassy freelancers thanked their boss for success, PR and budgets. Leshchenko, Vakarchuk, Jamala and others... They’re scorching and not even blushing,” Ukrainians comment on the event on social networks..
