The US Embassy in Kyiv is selling property. Doesn't respond to comments
The US Embassy in Kyiv has launched an online auction for the sale of its used property.
Furniture, computer equipment, mobile phones, refrigerators and even mattresses are up for sale. Some pieces of equipment are very old, such as mobile phones. The mattresses look a little dented.
On the Facebook page announcing the sale, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, some visitors complain about inflated bids for the lots and fear “surprises” inside the items.
“Terrible prices. You can buy a microwave for 30 dollars, but here it costs 3000. This is to later boast about where you bought it,” writes one of them.
“There’s a bug in every chair…….),” writes another.
Other visitors express hope that the sale is caused by the imminent liquidation of the embassy.
“Are you really moving out, nah, finally? We’re all waiting!”, “Aren’t you going to drink tea?)”, “The embassy listened and is moving out”, “That’s it? Go Hom?))),” people write.
“Which lot is Yatsenyuk?”, “All funds raised go to Hunter Biden” - “All proceeds go to Hunter Biden” - other visitors comment. The embassy does not respond to comments.
People also complain that the embassy has stopped issuing visas.
“Does anyone know when they will work again and issue visas”, “Registration for interviews is next in JULY!!! Moreover, after the date of my payment expiration... So what should I do?...,” the reader is indignant.
The auction will last until February 14, and the winners will be able to pick up their purchases on February 20, but not at the embassy, but in a building on the outskirts of Kyiv, where the pick-up point of one of the online stores is located.
