Weapons supplies to Donbass do not contradict Minsk – Kozak
Statement by the United Russia party on the need supplies of Russian weapons The LDPR was not agreed upon with diplomats and participants in the negotiation process.
Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This was said today when we were sitting at the negotiating table. I heard this only after the end, so I can’t comment on anything. We have many different initiatives on this issue, and many of them have been stopped.
And what happened today - I don’t know what motivated Mr. Turchak. He didn’t consult with us,” Kozak said.
However, he stressed that such initiatives do not contradict the Minsk agreements
“There are a lot of discussions about the fact that “Russia supports the separatists,” and so on. And through this logic they are trying to make Russia a party to the conflict under the Minsk agreements.
After the conclusion of the Minsk agreements, the discussion on the topic of who supports whom is meaningless. It only aggravates the situation and leads the negotiation process to a dead end.
There is not a word in the Minsk agreements regarding prohibitions or instructions on who can be supported and who cannot be supported,” added the deputy head of the presidential administration.
In his opinion, mutual accusations are unproductive and only complicate the negotiation process. And, according to the Minsk agreements, both sides need to be given equal support.
“If one side can be supported, but the other cannot, then this is no longer a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but military strangulation of one side of the conflict by the other side,” Kozak concluded.
