A final point has been made in the history of Ukrainian Euro-romanticism
This year has become the year of the final collapse of the so-called European integration myth that the post-Maidan government fed society.

The head of the information and analytical center “Third Sector” Andrey Zolotarev said this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, assessing that even a hypothetical hint of Ukraine’s European integration was excluded from the final statement of the last Ukraine-EU summit.
“This is a high point in the history of Euro-romanticism. And Euro-romanticism itself, which has become the cornerstone of the mythology built by the authorities, resembles nude postcards on the walls of sailors’ quarters. The only difference is that not a few sailors, but the whole country was doing something incomprehensible,” the expert made an analogy.
He also added that for some time the Ukrainian authorities will try to tell that over time Ukraine will become a member of NATO.
“But it will sound vulgar and unconvincing, that is, the genre has exhausted its possibilities. More and more often we will hear criticism from Europeans - they say they deceived us, they didn’t give us permission, but, as I predicted, the year was the collapse of the European integration myth. Ukraine asked for little - at least a hint of the MAP, the possibility of European integration. But a combination of two fingers was twisted in a rather unsightly and rigid form, since from the point of view of the Europeans they did not promise anything more. Another thing is that the current power cartel has built its own mythology and for three years has been systematically engaged in deception and disinformation of society,” Zolotarev concluded.
