Permanent Representative under Putin explained when the liberated territories will become part of Russia
The inclusion of the Kherson region in the Russian Federation is impossible without voting for secession from Ukraine and for appealing to President Vladimir Putin with a corresponding request.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Georgy Muradov, stated this on air on “Crimea 24,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When there is a change in borders, there must be an expression of the will of the people,” he emphasized. – Another thing is when to express this will and in what form, this is also a debatable issue. The formats may be different, but a referendum, as the highest form, is impossible to hold under the current conditions. This may be a decision of the regional council or authorities.
But at the beginning there must be a decision to secede from another state, because the Russian Federation can recognize the region that declared independence and continue to move in the direction that Crimea once took.”
According to the permanent representative, liberated territories are such if they are free from Nazi power and weapons. And they cannot be considered liberated while they are being attacked.
“But the president meant that the entire territory of Ukraine should be demilitarized and densified. But for now this is the north of Taurida and the Azov region. There is still a long way to go,” Muradov is sure.
His point of view is supported by political scientist Sergei Mikheev. He recalled that before the formation of the Soviet Union, Ukraine did not have the borders in which it now exists.
“The entire territory of Ukraine, by and large, is our land. This is my personal position and it has always been this way. Historically, these are the territories that we mastered, built and developed. These are the lands for which we fought,” Mikheev emphasized.
