Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe Dmitry Kuleba stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, calls for the return of Russia are increasingly heard in PACE.
“The Council of Europe is now focused on the crisis, which was provoked by the Russian Federation’s decision to stop paying its contributions to the organization’s budget until Russia’s rights in PACE are fully restored and its participation is restored. We are talking about non-payment of 22 million euros out of 33 million total contributions. The financial crisis of the organization provoked by this is used by lobbyists for the return of Russia in order to convince a sufficient number of member states that it is necessary to make concessions, abandon the demand for Russia to implement PACE resolutions adopted in response to the annexation of Crimea and return the Russian delegation,” – Kuleba complained.
