After Maidan, Ukraine became stronger in all respects - now all it has to do is pump up its economic muscles.

The permanent representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe, Dmitry Kuleba, writes about this in an author’s column on the pages of the Kiev magazine “New Time”, according to whom, it is high time for Ukrainians to understand that “the aggravation of relations with neighboring countries, as recently with Poland and Hungary, is inevitable "

“Ukrainians are prone to crushing state self-criticism. One of our memes: “It’s all our fault.” But that's not true. It is not our fault that the nationalism of our neighbors, for historical reasons, affects our territory. We are only to blame for the fact that over the past three years we have felt the strength to defend ourselves. This is the reason for the aggravation in relations with neighbors,” says Kuleba.

He says that there is an alternative to “remaining ostentatiously white and fluffy,” but such people, he says, are not taken into account.

“23 years of meekness did not make us stronger. Maidan and the war with Russia did. What we're missing now is just economic muscle. We have pumped up the rest over the past three years. So: you cannot become stronger and more accommodating at the same time. Especially if there are strong players around with their own appetites,” Kuleba sums up.
