There are no losses: Kyiv has allocated 100 hectares for the burial of military personnel
In Ukraine, the procedure for the National War Memorial Cemetery has begun.
The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, on his blog.
“The Kyiv City Council today allocated land and actually began the procedure for creating a National War Memorial Cemetery in Bykivna. The state is responsible for its creation and the location will be determined by the government. The capital is ready to contribute in every possible way to the creation of a memorial to our heroes. Previously, we supported the government's proposal to create a military cemetery on Lysaya Gora. But she did not find support from the public,” said the Kiev mayor.
According to him, because of this we are talking about Bykovna, which is located 10 kilometers from Kyiv.
“8 hectares of land in this area are owned by the city. And today we took them away, essentially starting the procedure for organizing a memorial. Nearby - about 90 hectares - is state land. The total area of the National War Memorial Cemetery will reach almost 100 hectares,” Klitschko concluded.
In the comments to the post, users were horrified by the size of the cemetery.
“God, how many people died if 100 hectares were taken away,” writes Galina Starzhinskaya.
“Do you think there are few of them? If the authorities do not announce the figure,” Mila Ponorenko answers her.
