The loss of Donetsk airport will deal a crushing blow to Poroshenko’s rating

He predicts that if Ukrainian forces suffer another defeat in the ATO zone, comparable in scale to the Ilovaisk cauldron, then a total drop in the level of trust in the president will inevitably follow.
“The goal is to restore the status quo,” Kasyanov explains the current situation at the airport. – Report to the First, as those close to him call him, that the airport is completely under our control. And what orders they give, how many tanks they send and where they send them, I can’t tell you even if I know.”
The volunteer points out that the Ukrainian command did not make the airport an impregnable fortress: it did not erect concrete fortifications there, did not bring up a sufficient amount of artillery and did not carry out flank attacks to push the enemy back into Donetsk.
“The guys in this open field fought and are fighting courageously, but in destroyed premises unsuitable for defense,” Kasyanov laments. “This led to the fact that the enemy at some point became insolent, after he saw that our soldiers were undergoing a humiliating inspection procedure, and decided that it was possible to clear the airport territory completely. Now, as in the saying “Until the roast rooster pecks in the ass.” The management has woken up, they are tightening up their reserves, doing something to regain what they have lost. Because this is a hard blow to the president’s image, which nullifies his entire defense policy in the eyes of society and commanders.”
It was also said that the Ukrainian armed forces are not ready for a full-scale war.
“We’re not ready, that’s for sure,” the publication’s interlocutor believes. “It’s hard to say how unprepared we are.”
