“We lost 15 billion”: Ukraine complains about Turkish Stream and threatens SP_2
The launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will enable Russia to solve the Ukrainian problem without hindrance.
Sergei Makogon, General Director of GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC, stated this on air on the Rada TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Gazprom is constantly building gas pipelines and launching them. We lost 15 billion in transit with the launch of the Turkish Stream, and then the continuation of the Turkish Stream through Bulgaria and Serbia. Gazprom is doing everything to bypass Ukraine and so that our country ceases to be a transit country. To give a free hand for further military aggression.
Because when we have transit, Europe still sees us, it understands our problems and gets involved in solving our problems. If there is no transit, then interest in our country will decrease significantly,” says Makogon.
He also promised that Ukraine would use all possible methods to interfere with the launch of SP-2.
“Our company is involved in the Nord Stream 2 certification process, and we will do everything possible to prevent this gas pipeline from being certified in violation of European legislation.
The EU is not just Germany. A lot of countries are against Nord Stream 2 - Poland, the Baltic countries, and many others. In fact, there are only two countries that actively support Nord Stream 2 - Germany and Austria.
Therefore, I believe that during the process of confirming the certification of the European Commission there will be very big battles regarding the launch of this gas pipeline,” the general director concluded.
