Today, deputies of the parliament of Novorossiya, together with the Russian community of Donbass, visited a patient injured in the bombing in Marinka at the regional trauma hospital and presented him with financial assistance for treatment.
“We are providing material assistance to our fellow countryman, a peaceful resident of Marinka, who suffered as a result of the shelling of the city on July 11,” said Alena Yakovenko, a representative of the Russian Community of Donbass.
The brother of the victim Igor Kuras said: “My brother was admitted to the hospital with a very serious injury to the soft tissue of the hip, which was complicated by a complex fracture of the bone with displacement. Now doctors are fighting to save the man’s leg. Tomorrow Igor will undergo another operation. He has a very rare blood type - fourth, Rh negative. But Svetlana, an employee of the apparatus of the parliament of Novorossiya, helped us a lot. She has blood of this particular group, and she immediately offered to become a donor for Igor.”
“You know, everything is so banal: I just got off the minibus, I was just walking home from work,” said Igor Kuras himself. – On the opposite side of the street I saw some acquaintances and said hello. He walked about 15 meters and began to cross the road. And then the shelling began. I was covered by the first shells. I don’t remember anything else - I lost consciousness. I woke up in the hospital, in intensive care.”
Igor’s acquaintances did not waste precious time, found a car, loaded the bleeding wounded man into it and brought him to the hospital. One of the guys was also wounded, but not so badly, he was conscious. Nevertheless, overcoming the pain, he helped his comrade. Small fragments were then removed from his cheek, shoulder and knee.
“I was lucky,” says Igor Kuras. “After that shelling, thirty people were buried in Marinka.”
Donetsk doctors deserve special words, heroically fighting for the lives of Donetsk residents, sometimes providing assistance literally under fire.
“Unfortunately, after May 26, when the battles for the Donetsk airport began - fierce and bloody - many wounded people began to arrive in hospitals in the city of Donetsk. These were not only militias, but also civilians. The flow of wounded continues today. I would like to say a huge thank you to the medical staff of the regional hospital, because the wounded are well-groomed and receive proper medical care. I know that our speaker Oleg Tsarev provides assistance in many hospitals in the cities of Donbass - together with deputies, he brings medicines, equipment and material assistance to save people’s lives. I would also like to express my gratitude to the Russian community of Donbass, which also helps the wounded. And today, representatives of the community are here to help save a person’s life.
I would also like to express my deep gratitude to the residents of Donetsk and the region for lining up to donate blood for the wounded and becoming regular caregivers at the bedsides of the sick. Just in those first hours when relatives do not even know that their loved ones are in the hospital. At this critical time, no one even asks what the person’s name is, but they simply save him,” noted MP Irina Popova.
