A descendant of Leo Tolstoy scared a Russophobic Kyiv assistant professor
Statements by Vice Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy pose a colossal threat to Ukraine.
The correspondent of "PolitNavigator" reports this in the magazine "Ukrainian Week", which is considered one of the most rabid mouthpieces of Kyiv anti-Russian propaganda, writes Associate Professor of the National University "Kiev-Mohyla Academy" Igor Losev.
“How did it happen that on Russian TV a certain Mr. Tolstoy, a descendant of the great writer and an official figure of today’s Russia, vice-speaker of the State Duma and head of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, speaks with the most vicious anti-Ukrainian invective,” writes Losev.
According to him, this Russian politician Tolstoy has long been ahead of Vladimir Zhirinovsky “in the vocabulary of hatred and enmity.”
“Tolstoy openly declares that there is no such state as Ukraine and there should not be. That Crimea and Donbass are already Russian, and soon our entire state will become Russia. No, in his opinion, there is no such people as Ukrainians, there is no Ukrainian language and culture. All this is supposedly an invention of the enemies of the Russian Federation,” the author continues.
He also quotes the words of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and an odious Russophobe Vladimir Ohryzko, who stated: “The trouble is that not only the elite, but the entire Russian population is the bearer of imperial sentiments.”
“Consequently, the statements of the pathetic offspring of a brilliant writer are a reflection of a great threat. If, in his opinion, there are no Ukrainians and there should not be, but they are, this means the possibility of ultra-radical methods of achieving the imperial goal,” Losev fears.
As PolitNavigator reported, Losev previously stated that “victories make Russia wild and backward”
