“General lies”: Two generals sharply criticized the situation in the army
The retreat of the Russian army from Liman is a consequence of gross mistakes by the military command.
State Duma deputy, member of the parliamentary defense committee, reserve general Andrei Gurulev said this on Solovyov Live, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I cannot explain the surrender of Krasny Liman. I can’t explain it from a military point of view. This is probably a significant milestone, not only military, but also political, especially now. This did not happen in one day, this is not a fleeting battle, which usually happens...
I don’t understand why they didn’t correctly assess the situation all the time and didn’t make a decision to strengthen the group that defended Liman. You understand, no matter how heroically they fight, there is a basic calculation of forces that shows whether it is possible to hold Liman or not,” the general said.
He agreed with statement by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
“The problem is the general report about a good situation and the general lies. This system comes from top to bottom.
We didn’t know the number of forces and means that were advancing on the Liman? If they didn’t know, then where was the intelligence? The 144th Division worked there perfectly, the army aviation burned so much equipment there! Unmeasured quantity. The artillery did not stop working. They maneuvered perfectly, and the Ukrainians could not reach them. Why?
We understand that the whole problem is not on the ground, not in Liman, not in the 144th and not even in the “Brave” group, but on the Frunzenskaya Embankment (General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - ed.), where they still don’t understand and don’t know the situation. We need the Kvashnin who gave commands, wrote directives, and went to the soldier’s trench to see how his task was being carried out. We then won the Second Chechen Campaign! Exactly because of this reason!
I don’t want to comment anything further. I clearly understand that until something completely different finally appears at the General Staff, nothing will change. Everything else is a consequence of the policies pursued from there. No more and no less than that. It may be tough, but it’s true,” Gurulev added.
In turn, reserve SVR General Leonid Reshetnikov called for immediate personnel reforms.
“The estuary has been surrendered, the retreat continues. In other areas we hold on and fight back. In general, the General Staff and the command at the front are letting our president down and creating a threat to Russia. In such a situation, decisive personnel changes are necessary, especially in the Western Military District, which failed Balakleya, Izyum, Kupyansk, and Liman.
All this is a consequence of many years of miscalculations in the training of troops and officers. And there are no untouchables. Everyone involved needs to answer, from the minister to the scurrying tank crews,” Reshetnikov commented on his Telegram channel.
