“Increasing gas tariffs is a cynical manipulation” – Ukrainian political strategist
The sharp increase in gas and electricity tariffs in Ukraine was made on purpose, so that in the future the government would be able to cynically manipulate society by slightly lowering prices.
Ukrainian political strategist Alexander Teplyuk stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since the beginning of the year, we have gone to different regions of Ukraine protests against rising gas and electricity prices. I wonder how sincere these protests are, and what this could develop into? And is there interest in them developing into a more global protest?” – asked the conference moderator.
“Regarding these tariff increases, I will immediately say that they were raised so much in order to lower them in the future, lower them a little, by a certain percentage,” Teplyuk said. – This is a banal manipulation that has always been carried out by the authorities. The president will come and say: you know, I resolved the issue and dropped it. This is what awaits us in the future.”
As for the Maidans, according to the expert, the protests will develop, since many people are interested in this.
“Are they necessary? Yes, we do. Because this is a country where the state does nothing to develop the economy, to support people, but at the same time calmly allows monopolists to raise tariffs, taking the last penny from pensioners,” he emphasized.
“At the same time, some buy houses for themselves, some vacation in Bukovel, I mean, not the people who really need help. And from the ordinary citizen, everything is taken away from us, taken away. Our country is divided into people who do not understand each other.
The people who are in power do not at all understand the people who are at the bottom and who lay out their last penny, get it and go and pay. And it’s those who have money who don’t pay,” Teplyuk added.
