Denis Marchuk, deputy chairman of the Kyiv regional organization of the Agrarian Party of Ukraine, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are moving towards European prices. but, unfortunately, not to the European lifestyle and business development conditions. They always want to prove to us that increasing the minimum wage creates prospects and conditions for Ukrainians to feel better economically protected. It should be noted that compared to December 2016, the decrease in wages was about nine percent. This is explained by the fact that a large number of enterprises are closing, and those that do not close are transferring people to part-time, part-time jobs,” the politician said.
“So, unfortunately, we have those desired 3200 that the Prime Minister and other officials keep talking about. We don’t,” Marchuk concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, the so-called increase in the minimum wage, which was announced with pomp by the Ukrainian authorities, actually is simply by increasing the tax base.
