Crimean social activist Vladimir Garnachuk believes that the blockade will fail because it is economically unprofitable for the Ukrainian side.
“Every day, 400-500 cargo vehicles crossed the border towards Crimea. The average tonnage is 15 tons. 400 trucks x 15 tons = 6 tons were imported daily from Ukraine to Crimea. Part of this cargo was in transit to the mainland (sugar, fruits and vegetables)... Now all this has stopped.
Deliveries through the crossing should compensate for the cessation of trade flow from Ukraine, and deprive many smart people of their earnings...
My forecast remains the same. All blockers will be flushed down the toilet by Ukrainian businessmen themselves,” says Garnachuk.
