A video has appeared of the consequences of the fall of a huge meteorite in the Khabarovsk Territory

A meteorite that fell a few days ago in the Khabarovsk Territory demolished the top of a hill, resulting in a rock collapse and blocking the bed of the nearby Bureya River.

This was reported by the Khabarovsk Territory Today news agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Apparently, the meteorite was huge if it could cover the river bed 40 meters deep. Now two groups have moved to the site: one from the Verkhnebureinsky district, the other from the Amur region. They have a satellite phone and dosimeters to determine radiation levels. At the Bureyskaya hydroelectric station, they noted for several days that the inflow into the reservoir had decreased, but could not determine the reasons. If the blockage on the river causes the water to rise and this threatens to flood the villages, we will declare a state of emergency,” said the head of the Verkhnebureinsky district, Alexey Maslov.

According to preliminary data, the Bureya riverbed was filled up several kilometers above the mouth of the Tyrma River, 70 km from the nearest settlement - the village of Chekunda.

It is reported that the incident was reported to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and space satellites were involved in assessing the situation.
