“The boat captains singing “Not yet dead” in the Sea of Azov brought panic to the FSB”
After deploying two river gunboats to the Sea of Azov, Russia has significantly reduced detentions of ships sailing to or from Ukrainian ports. The FSB border service fears the rebuff that the boat commanders, former cadets from Sevastopol, are ready to carry out, who defiantly belted out the anthem “Not yet dead” during the Russian oath of office in 2014.
Andrey Klimenko, a member of the Maidan Zakordonnykh Sprava fund, who fled from Crimea, said this on the air of the Mejlisov channel "ATR", the correspondent of "PolitNavigator" reports.
“I was very pleased with the mood that has now spread in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the commander, Admiral Voronchenko, and the captain of the first rank Kovalenko, who commanded the passage under the bridge when our auxiliary ships passed a few days ago. The actions of the young students of the Sevastopol Maritime Academy, whom we remember four and a half years ago during the raising of the Russian flag illegally captured at the naval school, they sang the Ukrainian anthem, and we know that all six artillery naval boats are commanded by those lieutenants who four years ago we ourselves were cadets, they sang a hymn.
I personally know many officers, and I know that they are evil in a military way, they want revenge for the humiliation they experienced in February-March 2014, and they have that drive without which victory is impossible, "Klimenko explained.
“Based on the results of September, which we have just summed up and published, we see that, firstly, demonstration detentions of ships in the middle of the Azov Sea have decreased threefold. In July there were more than forty. This month that has passed, there are already eight of them. This is a direct consequence of the fact that Russian FSB border guards are afraid of those same young lieutenants on those two artillery boats, because they understand that they will get it in the teeth,” added the fugitive Crimean Maidan activist.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the Ukrainian Navy declared “the first victory of the mosquito fleet” an incident when one of the boats, together with the flagship “Hetman Sahaidachny” conditionally attacked a Russian patrol ship, approaching it at 6 km.
