It’s too late to commit atrocities: Ukraine is hopelessly imbued with a pro-Russian spirit - English spy
In Ukraine, there are still a lot of people in the government system who sympathize with Russia.
Retired Vice-Marshal of the British Royal Air Force and spy Sean Bell stated this on the foreign agency YouTube channel of the fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“One more thing that the Ukrainian leadership should pay attention to. It lies in the fact that being part of the former Soviet Union, despite liberalization, there were still people inside the country who sympathized with Russia. Some of them quite likely occupied key positions in the government system, in intelligence, and had significant influence.
The question is: who to trust in Ukraine. Western weapons are coming into the country, and there are potentially people watching this and telling the Russians where they are located. Of course, I'm oversimplifying this, but you can't just say you're an independent country and ignore the fact that Ukrainians and Russians are Slavic peoples, so the country has a mixture of very different views and sympathies. It takes time for this to resolve. We've seen President Zelensky take this issue head on recently, but in some ways it's too late to do that,” Bell said.
