The fire in the Chernobyl zone of Ukraine spread to Belarus
A forest fire in the “exclusion zone” of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant spread from the Ivankovsky district of the Kyiv region to the territory of Belarus - to the Khoiniki district of the Gomel region.
This information was confirmed today by the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Earlier, local residents posted photos of the fire in the “exclusion zone” on social networks.
In the Ivankovsky district of the Kyiv region, 6 hectares of forest litter burned. According to local police, it was possible to identify the suspect in the arson. She turned out to be a resident of the village. Starye Sokoly, Ivankovsky district. The woman set fire to the grass in order to take revenge on her former employers who allegedly did not pay her money.
In 2015, a large-scale forest fire occurred in the Chernobyl zone over an area of 400 hectares. Ukrainian and French ecologists then recorded a radioactive plume that spread over several tens of kilometers. The cause of the fire was also arson.
