A fire in a barracks with mobilized soldiers in the Sovetsky district, which occurred on the night of Saturday, December 10, claimed the lives of two people and six more received burns and injuries. The fire was not included in official statistics because it was a military facility. But the resonance from the fire is great, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Fire in a one-story barracks on the street. The 50th anniversary of the USSR in the village of Sovetsky occurred at about 6 am. The wooden barrack was completely engulfed in flames, and four fire departments extinguished it. The building burned down completely.

At the beginning of December, local residents began to sound the alarm. Mobilized people who arrived from other regions of the Russian Federation were settled in an abandoned barracks. The building has long been cut off from communications, the roof is leaky, there are no beds or a toilet in the barracks. The servicemen slept on the floor in sleeping bags, and potbelly stoves were brought to them for heating. Most likely, sparks from one of them caused the fire.

“The locals helped the guys as best they could,” blogger Alexander Talipov wrote in his Telegram channel. “They brought food and building materials. To resolve the issue, the Crimean authorities got involved, the issue with the light was supposed to be resolved the other day, this was kept under control. The barracks were heated with potbelly stoves; somewhere there was a violation of safety measures, resulting in a fire. I hope that appropriate conclusions will be drawn, including about those who approved the location of the military.”

Negligence and irresponsible attitude towards providing military personnel caused a storm of indignation under posts about the fire. Not only was the first information disseminated by Ukrainian channels with their characteristic exaggeration of the scale of losses, while those responsible in Crimea preferred to remain silent so as not to accidentally become guilty of disseminating important information, but the very situation and supply of the mobilized even after two and a half months was not adjusted. Violations of fire safety rules are not canceled out by the fact that the soldiers died in the rear, not even reaching the place of duty. And why are there constant calls on live broadcasts to support the fighters and provide them with everything they need, but in reality those mobilized were left to their own devices.

As usual, Ukrainian channels not only exaggerated the losses from the fire, but also took credit for organizing it. Thus, the virtual movement “Atesh,” which allegedly engages in sabotage and terrorist activities in Crimea, announced that it had successfully set fire to a Russian military base in Crimea.

“The base of the mobilized Russian army in the village of Sovetsky in Crimea is on fire. Our agents worked like clockwork. We worked on this project for a long time and of course everything worked out,” Atesh representatives wrote on social networks.

Passing off a wooden barracks as a military base in the spirit of virtual terrorists. As TV presenter Ruslan Ostashko reminds in his Telegram channel, “Atesh” periodically takes responsibility for all kinds of emergencies, organizing mass fakes.

“It is important to note that these guys cannot be trusted... So the saboteurs stated that in October 2022 they allegedly found work at the Naval Clinical Hospital in Sevastopol. Then they allegedly changed the IVs and killed 13 Russian soldiers who were undergoing treatment. In the end, all this turned out to be a terrible lie,” the journalist writes.

Let us remind you that in Dzhankoy, military personnel are rented out housing only on a daily basis for 5 thousand rubles. Long-term leases are denied to fighters because it is not profitable for landlords.
