The heralds of Petro Poroshenko no longer mention the need to control the border with Russia in the Donbass as one of the key conditions for holding elections in the DPR and LPR.
As the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup at the negotiations in Minsk, Irina Gerashchenko, stated on TV channel 112, Ukraine, nevertheless, will go to “coordination of certain details” of the elections with the republics.

“The key thing is that security conditions must be met - troops must be withdrawn, disarmament must take place, and so on. The second question is that these elections should be held according to Ukrainian legislation, with the admission of Ukrainian media and political parties. These elections must meet the high standards of the OSCE. And those issues that really need to be agreed upon are certain details that the Ukrainian side openly tells its viewers - that displaced people, who are the real voice of Donbass, should take part in these elections, and they should elect the authorities of their region,” Gerashchenko said
