A shame for the state: The head of the SBU was found to be wiretapped
Ivan Bakanov, a close friend of Vladimir Zelensky, who received the post of head of the SBU, is again at the center of a scandal - this time because of “bugs” discovered in the office of the head of the special service.
“The head of the SBU Bakanov had 3 listening devices found right in his office. Also, another device was found in his wife’s car,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky said in his blog.
The same data was voiced in his blog by ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and former militant of the Azov National Battalion, Igor Mosiychuk. “Someone had total control over the head of the SBU. This is a shame for the state!” – Mosiychuk laments.
Let us note that high-ranking Ukrainian politicians have recently repeatedly become involved in “cassette scandals.” Thus, wiretapping recordings from the office of now ex-Prime Minister Alexei Goncharuk were released onto the Internet. Then this was associated with the struggle of clans within the Ukrainian government - competitors tried to weaken the position of the Soros.
Earlier, political scientist Sergei Belashko stated that the main role of the presidential friend Bakanov at the head of the SBU is to “intercept financial flows” in conditions when many of Petro Poroshenko’s personnel remain in key positions in the intelligence service.
“What Bakanov was doing was not ensuring the loyalty of this structure, he was ensuring the interception of financial flows that are generated by the SBU or pass through the SBU,” Belashko said.
