“Western countries are running out of patience with the Ukrainian government,” states a European reporter.
“Biden was very irritated and warned your president in quite strong terms that it was time for him to fulfill his promises - to carry out reforms. According to Biden, Ukraine risks that 5 EU countries are ready to withdraw their support for sanctions against Moscow... He said: get your act together and get to work!” – the correspondent reminded Klimkin.
“The West is very disappointed that the Ukrainian parliament was unable to pass changes to the Constitution that would actually give autonomy to the separatist regions, which was a key condition of the Minsk agreements... You have not moved forward, you are not fulfilling your obligations!” – the representative of Deutsche Welle also recalled.
According to him, the West sees that sanctions against Moscow did not force Russia to leave Donbass or Crimea.
“There is no sign that Russia is leaving. The sanctions have not achieved any effect... How long do you want the sanctions to be extended, because European and American businesses are suffering losses?” – asked the German journalist.
“I am absolutely optimistic about what has been done in terms of real reforms,” Klimkin assured.
“It seems that you live on another planet, Mr. Minister? ...You haven’t been able to bring a single corruption case to court, and yet you tell me that you are moving forward?!” – the Deutsche Welle reporter was amazed.
