Shame of Ukrainian deputies: Termination of the agreement with the Russian Federation on Transnistria is invalid

Today's decisions of the Verkhovna Rada to terminate a number of agreements with Russia on cooperation in the military sphere, in particular on transit cargo and military personnel basesу in Transnistria are legally worthless.

According to him, the deputies violated the procedure for terminating contracts with Russia.
“Each of these agreements provides for the procedure for their termination and termination. Most of them deal with automatic extension for a period of 5 years from the date of entry into force. That is, say, the agreement on the transit of Russian troops in the PMR, ratified in 1998, may be terminated in 2018. The Rada has no other ways to terminate it.
2. International treaties, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, have priority over Ukrainian laws. Accordingly, the Rada cannot, by its decisions, revise the procedure for their ratification or denunciation. She simply does not have the authority to do this, since in Ukraine foreign policy is led by the president, who did not submit a corresponding proposal for denunciation to the Rada.
3. And the funny thing is. One of the agreements denounced today—on military intelligence cooperation—is secret. That is, the Rada does not even seem to know its text, but for a real denunciation it is necessary to attach the texts of the treaties to the resolution. This means that the Rada canceled some document without even suspecting what was written in it and what the procedure for terminating its activities was.
Thus, Russia can notify Ukraine that it will gladly consider any official submissions on non-prolongation of these agreements within the specified time frame, but for now it will consider the documents valid,” Kornilov commented on the Rada’s decisions on his page.
