The shame in the Kerch Strait is the result of Ukraine’s vaunted “mosquito fleet tactics”
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, preparing a provocation in the Kerch Strait to disrupt the elections, was going to sacrifice only a dilapidated tugboat and its crew.
This opinion was expressed on the Rossiya-1 TV channel by political scientist Vladimir Kornilov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was clear to everyone: Poroshenko needed to disrupt the elections or at least preparations for the election process. It was clear that he would agree to any provocation; he chose the most dilapidated tugboat, the former Krasnoperekopsk,” the expert noted.
“Yeah! And two newest boats from the 15th and 17th years!” – Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Tryukhan objected.
“So they bolted and caught up with them! The mosquito fleet's tactics are vaunted. Stop mumbling! Don’t be a tambourine,” Kornilov retorted.
He recalled that this tug was in disrepair back in 2008, when they tried to block the ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet under President Yushchenko.
“So he stood there. In 2014, the Russian flag was raised over it, and then the Russians themselves towed it away so that it would not rust in Sevastopol. But I don’t mind the tug, the most important thing is it (Poroshenko – Ed.) he risked these boys, the Russian border guards performed a highly professional act, did not kill anyone, limited themselves to a little bloodshed and detained the border violators, as befits any border guards,” the political scientist added.
“Now Poroshenko seems to have backed down, he says we’ll introduce it for a month and it won’t affect the election process. But thirty days is enough to clean up the entire legal field of Ukraine,” Kornilov believes.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine they said that they had conditionally attacked Russian patrol ship, approaching it within 6 kilometers.
