Disgraceful: the editor-in-chief of a Ukrainian magazine copied an author’s column from a Russian colleague
Vogue UA editor-in-chief Olga Sushko was caught committing major plagiarism from the Russian magazine Bazaar. Sushko exactly copied the editorial column of the editor-in-chief of the Russian “Harper's Bazaar” from 2006, Shahri Amirkhanova.
This was reported by the Telegram channel “Kiev Fashion Lovez”.
The text and composition of the letters are almost the same, only some parts have been corrected. For example, “the happiest girl in the world” is replaced by “a very happy girl”, “coping with your fears, complexes and weaknesses” - with “coping with your fears, weaknesses”. Only the last paragraph of the letter differs, in which Olga talks about the contents of the new issue and the work on it. The photographs below show the full text of letters from Shahri Amirkhanova (Russian Harper's Bazaar, July-August 2006) and Olga Sushko (Ukrainian Vogue, June 2018).
Representatives of Vogue Ukraine have not yet commented on the situation.
Olga Sushko began her duties as editor-in-chief of the magazine in 2016, and before that she held a similar position at the Ukrainian Kommersant Weekend.
