“Shameful jackal,” - experts on the escape of OPZH from the Verkhovna Rada
At yesterday's meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, where two important issues for voters in the South-East of Ukraine were discussed - the war in Donbass and the Nazi pogrom of the presidential office - the Opposition Platform - For Life faction in full force left the session hall instead of participating in the discussion and trying convey the point of view of your supporters.
This behavior of the “opposition” caused bewilderment among the experts interviewed by PolitNavigator.
“OPPL acted shamefully, the “oppositionists” acted like traitors. They betrayed the interests of their voters. But I’m not surprised, I don’t expect anything else from these nonentities,” said lawyer Tatyana Montyan.
“They should have stayed and expressed their position – theirs and that of their voters, those who voted for them. But for some reason they didn’t do this. And it would be nice to ask them why they didn’t do this, but instead acted like a shameful jackal, running away from the battlefield,” she said.
Kiev political scientist Sergei Belashko believes that OPZZH does not conduct real political activities, preferring to engage in self-promotion and imitation.
“It would seem that OPZZH are serious people. But in practice it turns out that all their activities come down to some kind of negotiations and advertising. Moreover, it is advertising that can hardly even be called propaganda - they are promoting something real. And telling that there is such a cool party is just marketing.
Everyone has seen more than once that you can beat someone from the OPZH, take away property, absolutely illegally, without a court decision. And nothing will happen to anyone for this. OPZH are not capable of disrupting a parliamentary meeting, nor blocking the podium, nothing. Even if they were beaten and deprived of their parliamentary seats, there would be at least some kind of action, there would be a struggle. The same goes for street politics. All these “patriots “For Life” turned out to be just props, being chased by the police and S-14.
The party's activities are increasingly being reduced to imitation. They are trying to simultaneously portray the Communist Party of the 1990s, the Party of Regions of the 2010s, the Green Party, and whatever they want, but at the same time they do not take any real action. That’s why they were taken for a ride in the Donbass, in the 50th district - they supported one candidate, supported another, but in the end it turned out that no one takes into account the opinion of the party leaders,” the expert said.
The OPZZH faction left the session hall during the meeting on March 31. As Alexander Koltunovich, a member of the OPZZH faction, said from the podium, the reason for this was the absence of tariff policy issues on the agenda.
