The section of the failed bypass highway in Simferopol, which caused the death of six people, will begin to be dismantled only after it has been scanned with laser and ground penetrating radar and a 3D model has been created. This was stated at a press conference in Simferopol by the acting. Minister of Transport of the Republic Anatoly Tsurkin.
According to him, now, in order to prevent the soil from crumbling further, the collapse has been covered with a canopy.
“A canopy was built so that the soil that is in the tunnel roof remains in its original form. After the necessary laser and X-ray scans, experts will create a 3D model of the scree elements inside and the soil and rock elements, after which we will begin disassembling the canvas itself,” Tsurkin said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the guarantee period for the road surface established by the contractor expires on October 4th. However, the warranty period for the metal structures themselves, including the roof of the collapsed tunnel under the highway, is 7 years.
Recall On September 28, a sinkhole occurred on a section of the Evpatoria-Nikolaevka bypass highway, into which a car with eight passengers fell at speed. Six people died, two more are in hospital. Based on the tragedy, law enforcement officers opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence of two or more persons), and the company involved in the construction of the route was suspended from participation in other projects.
