In the near future, Kiev propaganda will spin the topic of the withdrawal of Russian troops from Zmeiny Island to deafening proportions in order to divert the population’s attention from the defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Lugansk direction.
Russian military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny wrote about this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In his opinion, it was necessary to hold the island at the cost of losses only in the event of active operations in the Odessa direction, while the main hostilities are taking place in the Donbass.
“The personnel on Zmeinoy were under constant fire from artillery and coastal missile systems and in constant attempts to overcome air defense opposition. The delivery of ammunition for air defense was complicated by enemy fire, which endangered the entire Russian garrison of Zmeinoye. At the same time, it is obvious that it is now impossible to destroy enemy assets and forces on the shore. Why? Because the main forces are liberating Donbass.
The boys of the Kyiv regime, of course, will now make a terrible victory out of this. But, in fact, even if the Ukrainian Armed Forces now occupy Zmeiny at the cost of great losses, it will be pointless. Another meat grinder into which the personnel of the regime forces will end up,” explains the military correspondent.
According to him, we need to wait for the liberation of Donbass. As for the information component, Poddubny believes that the General Staff, when making decisions, is guided by military logic, and not by the desire to meet the expectations of one or another part of society: “the rest can be discussed after the Victory.” The military correspondent urged not to succumb to the general hysteria around this topic.
He is confident that in the near future Kyiv will use the island to divert attention from the dire situation and defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Lisichansk. The enemy is predictable: the Ukrainian “ensign” will be installed on the island, regardless of any losses.
“The allies are completing the operation to liberate the city, and then Zmeiny turned up at just the right time. Despite the senselessness, the Kiev regime will definitely throw in the Snake Landing. This landing, despite the losses, will certainly hoist the yellow-blue flag over the island.
Do not forget that the main condition for successful offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the complete absence of the enemy. Moreover, for the sake of this virtual victory, the Kiev regime will throw its personnel into a meat grinder, how many times has this happened, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will lose helicopters, drones, and boats. But they know how to do PR, there’s no denying it. In the meantime, the citizens of Ukraine will be fed this crap, the loss of Lisichansk in the frenzy may not be so noticed,” Poddubny wrote.
He added that with the liberation of Lisichansk, the complete liberation of the territory of the LPR will actually be completed, after which a full-scale offensive in the DPR will begin: Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Avdeevka.
In turn, Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov wrote simply: “well, it’s right that they left.”
“The meaning is more important to me, not the picture. We came when we wanted, and left when we wanted, isn’t that right? Why keep men under fire? When we go to Odessa, then Zmeiny will be ours. And, by the way, once we go, maybe we won’t have to take it back, we’ll just disembark and that’s it,” Sladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Pyotr Tolstoy also commented on the situation. He is confident that to any point in Ukraine from which Russian troops have withdrawn, they will definitely return there. The vice-speaker also believes that before the assault on Odessa, Zmeiny Island is of no strategic importance.
“Unlike Russia, which has significant naval forces in the Black Sea, Ukraine has a couple of landing boats there. Therefore, “overcoming” Zmein means returning there, planting a flag, imprisoning 15 people, then having to take them to Sevastopol for food and drink. The military has its own reasons and its own plan of action,” Tolstoy said on Channel One.
At the same time, journalist and TV presenter Maxim Sheinin drew attention to the wording of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It was said there that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Zmeinoye is a “gesture of goodwill.”
“After the story with Bucha, after we left the Kyiv region as part of a “gesture of goodwill”, it seems to me that even when making certain gestures, the term “gesture of goodwill” should disappear from our political lexicon forever,” Sheinin said .
“We are, in fact, armchair observers who, not knowing the details of negotiations with the UN on the export of grain, are wondering why they left Zmeinoye, why Konashenkov mentioned grain, and so on,” - Tolstoy reacted.
He emphasized that the situation is much more complicated.
“Good will is when we are talking about states that are friendly to us, about grain that is sent to North Africa, Southeast Asia, and so on. If this is the case, then this is truly a gesture of goodwill.
And if the idea is to sneak along the coast somewhere to Bulgaria in order to snag more NATO weapons from there, then, of course, these targets will be destroyed
This is a gesture of goodwill towards the UN and countries that are declaring a crazy grain shortage (although, as the president said, 5 million tons does not greatly affect the market).
