The Crimean government rushed to save lovers of cheap illegal real estate

More than 1400 people found themselves in the status of defrauded shareholders after they invested their money in the construction of apartment buildings on the southern coast of Crimea.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic Yevgeny Kabanov stated this on the Crimea-24 TV channel.

“A group of people from the Krasnodar region came here in 2015. She bought 25 plots for individual housing construction and began building apartment buildings. I sold apartments at prices several times lower than the market price. People, naturally, fell for such an offer. An apartment in Yalta cost 1,1 million rubles. I’ve lived in Crimea for 36 years, I’ve never seen such prices,” Kabanov said.

According to him, the Crimean government intends to help defrauded shareholders, despite the fact that they themselves are to blame for their problems, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The developer stepped aside and left people alone with the authorities. The authorities will certainly help. For this purpose, we are developing a separate bill to protect the rights of defrauded shareholders. It’s a shame that mainland citizens in Crimea buy real estate using some kind of receipts or fake contracts. They say: it was cheap, I decided to buy it,” said Kabanov.
