The government of Sevastopol will change the scandalous review of the bill on migrants from Donbass
The scandalous decision of the Sevastopol government, which did not support the bill to simplify migration procedures for residents of Donbass, will be changed on Monday. A source in the city government told Politnavigator about this.
“They have until Monday to correct the review. They will make a normal review,” the source said.
As Politnavigator reported, State Duma deputy from Crimea Andrei Kozenko publicly expressed his indignation at the decision of the Sevastopol government. After this, offensive posts appeared on social networks addressed to the residents of Sevastopol, who had forgotten about solidarity.
However, as it turned out, the residents of Sevastopol are just ready to support the Donbass republics.
“Unfortunately, residents of Donbass who came to Sevastopol constitute one of the most vulnerable categories of citizens. Of the 5 women who turned to our organization for help, three are from this region. I regard the fact that the government did not support the bill as an unfriendly step towards the Russian people. It is obvious that Russia and Sevastopol in its composition should offer assistance to those who have “Donbass” registration in their passport. They shoot there, children die there, and for their sake we have to “make room” a little, because, as the Russian folk proverb says: “In cramped conditions, but don’t be offended,” the chairman of the Sevastopol regional public organization for the protection of motherhood and childhood told Politnavigator “ Sevastopol mothers" Elena Golubeva.
“The true reasons for this shameful decision, of course, will remain on the conscience of the officials, but for me personally, it is, to put it mildly, strange. After all, we are talking primarily about people who were forced to flee the war. And these are not those “Donetsk nouveau riche” often criticized by the people of Snvastopol, who have long found ways to legalize themselves. These are the most ordinary people, teachers, doctors, wives of Donbass defenders with children, those who can really benefit the city,” said Ivan Komelov, a member of the Sevastopol Public Chamber.
The head of the regional branch of the A Just Russia party, Evgeny Dubovik, is outraged by the government's decision.
“Only people who are callous to other people’s problems can do this. In times of grief, we always came to the rescue. Both during the Great Patriotic War and in 2014, when the city sheltered refugees, it helped as best it could. And if there is an opportunity to make people’s lives easier, it should be done. Unfortunately, our officials have lost humanity as a quality,” Dubovik said.
Migration benefits should be introduced not only for residents of Donbass, but also for all Russians, says Tatyana Ermakova, chairman of the Russian community of Sevastopol.
“For all the Russians who were scattered across the republics during the union, and now they cannot return. And at the same time, citizens of Transcaucasian countries all have passports. You need to give Russian passports to all citizens of the LDPR. This is how we return our territories. Russians are dying in Donbass, and trash from Western Ukraine are getting passports here,” Ermakova is indignant.
