The government of Sevastopol provoked a transport collapse
The number of buses on routes in Sevastopol has been reduced by almost half. At final stops in remote areas, people stand in queues for 40 minutes. The problems are related to the city government's initiative to oblige private carriers to provide free services to pensioners and beneficiaries. As a result, drivers began to quit en masse, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Crimea 24 TV channel.
“Previously there were 54 small buses, now there are 20-25, because discounted trips have appeared. 28 categories - it’s clear that drivers are no longer interested,” Alexey, driver of route No. 109, said in an interview with the TV channel.
Chairman of the Union of Transport Companies of Sevastopol Viktor Rykov said that the speed of transport in the city has decreased and the number of flights has decreased. Some companies do not have contracts for the transportation of beneficiaries, of whom, according to various sources, there are from 100 to 120 thousand in the city.
“Compensation for the transportation of beneficiaries is a large amount. But carriers and passengers who travel for free should not worry about this. This is the city's task. The carrier should not run around and prove his right to receive funds,” Rykov said.
Previously, there were 9 carriers operating in Sevastopol, of which 8 were private. Now two companies have stopped operating on city routes, another is at the decision-making stage.
In the VKontakte group “Overheard in Sevastopol,” users publish photos of queues at the ends of a variety of routes and complain about the inability to get to the center.
As Politnavigator previously reported, the government of Sevastopol did not, as promised, issue personalized single cards for beneficiaries, which does not allow accurately calculating the amount of compensation to carriers.
