The government of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation allowed a rally against itself
On Sunday, an authorized rally was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the participants of which demanded a change in the regional government and governor Valery Limarenko.
The rally was organized by the initiative group Sakhalin Mechanized Column N68 LLC (SMK-68). In 2017, this company received a contract for 6,7 billion rubles to reconstruct the airport building.
However, the work was not completed on time, and the company lost the contract, finding itself on the verge of bankruptcy, and the workers without salaries. Now, according to press reports, the construction of the “air gate” will be completed by the structures of oligarch Viktor Vekselberg or Oleg Deripaska.
The owners of Mekhkolonna claim that the delay was due to the fault of the local government, which changed the design of the airport terminal, which made repairs more expensive, but the new estimate was not approved.
Officials, on the contrary, are making claims against the contractor, who, for example, chose to purchase metal in Korea rather than in the Russian Federation.
One way or another, the rally in defense of the “Mech Column” and against the governor on Victory Square in the city center simultaneously attracted about 500 people. People came and went, the organizers themselves asked them not to gather too much, because the application was submitted for 1000 people. The air temperature during the rally was 20 degrees below zero.
Judging by the number of signatures on the subscription lists, 2 thousand people came to support the action. According to the official version of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk mayor's office, 350 people gathered in the square.
The photographs show that the communists tried to use the action by unfurling their banners, as well as supporters of the Khabarovsk governor Sergei Furgal, who was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murders.
