According to him, the issue of the blockade of the peninsula is being artificially created and fueled by individual politicians and will not lead to the stated goal of “returning” Crimea.
“I would not say that there is some kind of blockade. To be honest, this is more politicking. There are four lines that are capable of providing the entire volume, and indeed, three of the four lines were damaged, but our Ukrenergo services managed to repair them very quickly. This question, I think, is absolutely artificially cultivated. It seems to me that we are simply being used. If we say that Crimea should return to Ukraine in the future, then by not supplying it, we are pushing away some of the people. It seems to me that this is the majority of the population of Crimea. Of course, there are radicals, but in any society there are 7-10% of them,” Demchishin said.
