The Ukrainian government praised the artists performing in Crimea
Ukrainian artists performing on the territory of Russian Crimea, which official Kyiv considers “temporarily occupied,” are extremely brave people.
The Minister of Culture of Ukraine Vladimir Borodyansky stated this on the air of Radio Liberty, financed by the US State Department, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In my understanding, if a Ukrainian artist crosses the Ukrainian border and goes to Ukrainian territory that is temporarily occupied, performs there and conveys the Ukrainian context and the Ukrainian narrative, then this means that he is an extremely brave person. It’s risky,” Borodyansky said.
According to him, Kyiv is interested in spreading Ukrainian culture to Crimea (By the way, after the reunification of the peninsula with Russia in Crimea, the Ukrainian language received the status of one of the official ones, which the minister is silent about - ed.).
“I have already met with Crimeans, with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. We will do everything to ensure that the Ukrainian language and the Crimean Tatar language develop in Crimea. We have, well, we are now developing projects on how to do this, how to support the development of Ukrainian culture there. We will move in this way, we will deliver Ukrainian content to Crimea in different ways, and not just through television. We will create content so that we are all in the cultural space of Ukraine,” Borodyansky said.
As you know, Vladimir Zelensky, after his election as president of Ukraine, promised to intensify the information war for the return of Crimea and Donbass to the control of Kyiv.
