Yuri Korolchuk, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Energy Strategies, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the average service bill, the most money is spent on heating costs. For a two-room apartment it is 2700 UAH. And if the price of gas increases by 50%, then the bill will increase from 2700 to 4200 hryvnia. This is significant growth. This will mainly be an increase in heating and hot water,” the expert said.
He noted that if the price of gas doubles, the cost of housing and communal services for household consumers will increase by 1,5 times, while with the same increase in the cost of coal - only by 2%, but at the same time the government is trying to shift the population’s attention to rising prices coal
“Unfortunately, we see a conscious policy of the government, the authorities, to shift the emphasis in a completely different direction - coal is important, we will survive gas,” the expert noted.
